Dear Friends,
As you may know, October has been Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  If you haven't already done so, please schedule your annual mammogram.  Early detection is key to winning the battle against breast cancer.
I'd also like to take this opportunity to let our clients that are battling against this disease that you are in our thoughts and prayers for healing daily.
Cancer affects us all, either personally or through those we hold dear.  Please forward this newsletter or print a copy out to give to anyone who may be helped by sharing this information.
If you noticed a slight name change under my photo, that's a result of my recent wedding!  It was a small, private ceremony and we couldn't be happier.  Thanks for your well-wishes and support.  We are truly blessed.

All the best,
Sheryl

Choose Control

Cancer patients who are proactive about their impending hair loss as they begin cancer treatments are choosing to control their hair's destiny rather than to be controlled by it.  That's an accomplishment when so many other aspects of life seem to be out of control during this time.
We help our clients with cancer by giving them an idea of what to expect regarding hair loss resulting from their cancer treatment.  Read more.

Q:  I was recently diagnosed with cancer and understand that the treatment that I will be taking shouldn't cause me to lose my hair. Can that be right?  I thought everyone that took cancer treatments lost their hair.

A.  Actually, you may very well not lose your hair during your cancer treatment, depending on the type therapy you are prescribed.  However, for those that do lose their hair, or find that it thins significantly during treatment, HPI can have a natural hair prosthetic available for use in a matter of  days.

I would recommend scheduling a consultation before treatments begin so that if you needed a prosthesis, we would have photos of your natural hair's color and style and would be ready to duplicate it at a moment's notice.
Do you enjoy Halloween and costume parties only because you can hide your hair loss under a wild wig?

Come to HPI and let us offer solutions for your hair loss.
