Sheryl McCaleb , founder of the Hair Prosthesis Institute, owned a successful beauty salon for many years. In 1976, after losing her oldest sister to cancer, Sheryl made the decision to dedicate her profession and energy toward helping women who were dealing with hair loss problems. She opened the Hair Prosthesis Institute in 1994. It was one of the first centers in the United States specializing in medically related female hair loss. Since its opening, thousands of women have come to the institute for consultation and treatment.

As a Master Cosmetologist and Esthetician, Sheryl has worked thirty-five years as a salon owner, stylist, platform artist, and educator for companies such as Redken Laboratories, Paul Mitchell, On Stage Cosmetics, and major manufacturers in the field of hair replacement.

 
     
 

She has worked as a designer, consultant, and educator with leading manufactuors in the United States, designing wigs and hair replacement additions for women, as well as for children. She is presently a consultant for a research and development company creating designs and as a leading advisor for female hair loss.

 
     
 

Sheryl has taken advantage of advanced studies in areas such as bone structure, make-up artistry, hair cutting, styling, and coloring. She is a leading international educator and lecturer in the field of female hair loss. Her expertise in this field has afforded her the opportunity to teach people from such countries as France, Australia, Germany, Ireland, and Korea only to name a few.

 
     
 

Sheryl believes in joining forces with fellow professionals by being a member of the American Hair Loss Council, Transition's International, the North American Design Group, and the Tennessee Cosmetology Association.

If you are going west on I-40 from Downtown Nashville you will take exit 199 and turn left at the end of the ramp going toward Hwy. 70 south.

Go approximately 1 1/2 miles and turn right on Belle Forest Circle immediately beside the Regions Bank.

Proceed up the street and you will see our building on the right. We are in suite 100 on the first floor.
