Sheryl McCaleb, founder of
the Hair Prosthesis
Institute, owned a
successful beauty salon for
many years. In 1976, after
losing her oldest sister to
cancer, Sheryl made the
decision to dedicate her
profession and energy toward
helping women who were
dealing with hair loss
problems. She opened the
Hair Prosthesis Institute in
1994. It was one of the
first hair restoration
centers in the United States
specializing in medically
related female hair loss.
Since its opening, thousands
of women have come to Hair
Prosthesis Institute for
consultation and treatment.
As a Master Cosmetologist
and Esthetician, Sheryl has
worked thirty-five years as
a salon owner, stylist,
platform artist, and
educator for companies such
as Redken Laboratories, Paul
Mitchell, On Stage
Cosmetics, and major
manufacturers in the field
of hair replacement.
She has worked as a
designer, consultant, and
educator with leading
manufacturers in the United
States, designing wigs and
hair replacement additions
for women, as well as for
children. She is presently a
consultant for a research
and development company
creating designs and as a
leading advisor for female
hair loss.
Sheryl has taken advantage
of advanced studies in areas
such as bone structure,
make-up artistry, hair
cutting, styling, and
coloring. She is a leading
international educator and
lecturer in the field of
female hair loss. Her
expertise in this field has
afforded her the opportunity
to teach people from such
countries as France,
Australia, Germany, Ireland,
Korea and elsewhere.
Sheryl believes in joining
forces with fellow
professionals by being a
member of the American Hair
Loss Council, Transition's
International, the North
American Design Group, and
the Tennessee Cosmetology
Association. |
